Exploring Medical Careers Nancy Oken, Denver West High School
This WebQuest is designed to give 9th graders the opportunity to explore a variety of medical professions. They will watch an introductory video, peruse several websites for an overview, and select 5 medical careers to research. Students will investigate job descriptions, education requirements, expected salary, and settings for their 5 prospective careers. Students will then complete some guided self-refection, and choose their two favorite careers based on their personal aspirations, needs and interests. As an extra reality check, students will download and fill out one college application offering a program in their selected profession. Each student will present their top 2 medical careers to the class, supported by the reasons they are attracted to each.
